Creative Services Participates in Poster Project.

Members SIUC’s University Communication - Creative Services participated in the UCDA (University & College Designers Association) Campus Violence Poster Project.
According to UCDA, “The shootings on the campuses of Northern Illinois University and Louisiana Technical College earlier this year and the tragedy at Virginia Tech University last April brought a shocking reminder of how an ordinary, daily event can turn into tragedy. This tragedy illuminates, however, the generous human impulse to want to help those who have suffered loss.”
Universities and Colleges from across the world were asked to design a poster that reflects some aspect of campus violence--the shock of the event itself, the heroism of the survivors, or the importance of crisis preparedness. The project received more than 150 entries from 21 states and 19 countries.
This summer, the one-of-a-kind posters will be on sale through an online auction. They are now online and can be viewed at the UCDA Flickr site at: http://flickr.com/photos/ucda.
